Rough

Sort of describes how things have been going for me lately. Still having car problems, but trying not to let it get the best of me. At least I was able to make it to Indy to visit family.

I'm enjoying the Janet Discipline cd. It grew on me. I heard she was going to be Tyra today and also on Access Granted on BET on Wednesday for the making of her new video: Rock with U. Everyone has been rough on my girl since that Super Bowl shit, but I appreciate how she is continuing to do her thing.

Rough also describes the Brazilian Bruh below, but in a Good Way!

Random Thoughts

Quick observations and news to get you up-to-date...
Car was down for one week. My fault, little to no gas in tank on one of the coldest nights. Gas line freeze. New fuel pump, ripped off by the auto shop for $800 bucks. But again, my fault.
Things going good at work. Shooting at Illinois university leaves my students scared and uneasy. I feel like I am making a positive impact on youth even though I am not a teacher.
I miss my family but hope to see them next week, weather permitting.
Shoveling snow is like my part-time job, my skin is dry and I am trying to find motivation to work out again.
Been listening to Amy Winehouse to the point where I am going to get sick of it, but I love every song on her cd and awaiting Janet Feedback on Tuesday. I cooked dinner last night for A's family who are here visiting. Pleased with Obama, and have been taping American Idol, Big Brother (see Parker below, gone too soon)...A Raisin in the Sun Monday night on ABC a must see!
Sorry for no posts lately, just been preoccupied.

Enjoy the pics

RAP IT UP FRIDAY

I am going to spend my two days off from work watching the Wilson Cruz movie: "Coffee Date" again. Wilson is really good in this movie. A. has not seen it yet and I want to watch A. watch this movie. Anyway Wilson looks great in every scene, sort of like he looks below.

Well, I finally did it. I discovered the world of Online movies...Thanks Angie. Free online movies! This is how I saw "Coffee Date." I won't say I'm hooked, but going to the video store might become a thing of the past.

I was trying to put this post together; it was going to be about guys that don't necessarily have the traditional good looks, but have compensated their looks by getting their bodies in great shape. Wilson, (above) has both. I must admit that in my own personal preferences that I haven't usually gone for the pretty guys. Of course, a nice body doesn't hurt not one bit either.
Every time I see Ving Rhames, my heart skips 5 beats, but I know people (women and men) who think Ving is the ugliest man in the world. All I can say is: get some glasses or correctional surgery to them eyes. Ving is beautiful in every way.

Then you have someone like "I Love New York 2's Punk, also known as David Otunga.
This man has the most beautiful face. But Punk somehow has also developed a body so big and muscular, he almost looks freakish sometimes. What is he overcompensating for? Certainly not that face. But hey, I am all for people evolving there bodies into whatever makes that person happy. When I see the total package, all I can say is "WOW!!!

The next three guys are in the rap biz:
David Banner, Timbaland and the new kid on the block Flo Rida. These 3 guys throw in that certain somethin' somethin' plus that thug attitude and that's it, that's all. I am done. Check out those guns.
Whether these guys are your type or not, you cant deny that if the face or swagger doesn't get ya, then the body definitely will.
Enjoy.

Light Skin, Dark Skin, My Asian Persuasion,

Let's start out with the good news first. Janet (of the Jacksons) has released the video for the song Feedback from her highly anticipated forthcoming album "Discipline." What I love about Ms. Janet is that she gets right back on that horse even after radio stations refused (for the most part) to play any singles off of "20 Y.O.", a very good album that was given the cold shoulder, just like "Damita Jo." I also want to praise Mrs. Dupri? for getting right back out there so soon and not making her fans wait too long.

Did you see it, did you enjoy it? I am the biggest Janet fan if ever there was one, but I just want her to wow me. I am not a fan of the science fiction special effects she used, but what I did like was the ending of the video where she is bouncing the white liquefied balls up into the stratosphere. I just think that Janet alone dancing without all the digital effects is enough to satisfy all her fans. Check out "Pleasure Principle" from back in the day, one of Janet's best videos. Anyway, can't wait until the entire album is released. Go Janet...I'm hoping that the rest of the album lives up to your first single!

BADDDD NEWWWS

Yeah, I know how to spell. Okay, A. gets sick this weekend, I mean the fever, chills, body aches, the whole 9 yards. And what a baby when sick. A is like: "Come hold me!" "Come lay with me!" So, as the perfect mate, I do what I can to try to make A. feel better, while is is hacking all over me. Try as I might, I wake up Monday with a scratchiness in my throat while A. is getting better. I had to call in to work today and might not make it tomorrow either, if I don't break this fever and horrible cough. I know, I'm the best...but I really don't need to be sick right now. Plus, we have a busted pipe under the sink in the kitchen, a downed line in the back yard that I need to call about and I am ill-equipped for this sickness. And I just heard that Barack Obama is running second to Hilary Clinton. Still too close to call though. Does it sound like I am complaining? I should know better. I should go to urgent care like A. did, but I hate hospitals. Ever the optimist, I am trying to practice the Secret and see myself as well. I will let you know when it starts to work!

Well what do I do now? Well I am going to leave you with something light...light-skinned that is. Although I think I prefer dark skin, and Asian men are exotic, I have to support my own kind this time around!
