He Lookalike a What?

I got through my first week of work, even though it was only 4 days. Tomorrow will start my second week and it will be my first full 5 workday week and my first Sunday. Yes, my off days Friday and Saturday flew by like a flock of birds heading south for winter. Spent the day with A. at Starbucks, toured downtown Chicago and went to see the Jamie Fox movie: The Kingdom.
I thought I would have a little fun with this posting.
The picture below is my face after being doctored on by my paintshop program.
I have added my face to this bruh's body because he is holding a wine jug.
Anyone who knows me knows that I can always be counted on to bring a jug of wine to the party. In celebration of completing one week of work and having to start on the second, please have a sip from my jug of wine.
Below my pic are pics of my lookalikes.
If you agree or disagree that they look like me, please leave a comment and let me know.

Talk 2 u soon.

Work It Out!

Hello All...Where should I start. I am late getting this out...and not because I have been extraordinarily busy.
I was sort of racking my brain trying to decide how to work out this post. I knew I was going to feature Erik King. In doing my research, I forgot that one of the first places I saw him was on HBO's Oz. That bald head and tough demeanor gets me everytime.
I should mention again that I start at IIT on Monday. Of course, I have to go in for 8 hours on my last day of my current job on Saturday. That sucks...anyway, last Sunday we all went out to eat at Cracker Barrel after church. There was a small amount of drama concerning A. and his cousin and her kids who now live with us, but I wont speak further on that.
Went to the movies and saw The Brave One with Jodie Foster. Academy award-winning worthy performance. The rest of the week was pretty average, work and more work. I did yard work today, cut back some trees and raked up the leaves. Now I am just relaxing, trying to enjoy my few last days of freedom before I start my full-time, second shift job. Who am I kidding, I'm excited. A's family is visiting this weekend. The yard is ready, got to work it out and get the rest of this house in order. More coming soon...see ya all next time.

Two from One Tree Hill

Well, I finally heard back from IIT. I got the job! I start October 1st. Perhaps as A. says, it is my due season. We shall see.

Antwon Tanner (You know...he's been in every basketball movie. This guy is never out of a job.) Check him out on One Tree Hill in the role of Skills. I just finished watching the complete season 3 dvd set. I love this funny soapdramatic and opera. If you watch it, you will be hooked also.

Next, Marcus Coloma. Don't know much about this guy, but he makes an appearance in two episodes from season 3. I have a feeling that we will see more of him in Season 4.

Work projects, projections & Ahmed and Ali

9/4/07
Wow! What a week, what a difference. On Thursday, I had a 5-person interview at the Illinois Institute of Technology. At work on Friday, I essentially received an offer from their HR person telling me that I was their top candidate and that if my background check comes through clean (which it will) I have a job offer. The hours leading up to the interview, my stomach was in knots and my bowels were, well...let's just say drinking eight cups of coffee makes Mike a running boy. Ultimately I am thrilled, excited and scared; take it from me: the Secret is real. Whatever it is that you believe in, that higher power that you converse with daily, if you ask and believe and envision what you want for yourself, for your life, it will happen. There is no other way to self-fulfillment. I wish myself good luck.
On Saturday I had to open at work; it was a rough opening. Their were two cds stuck in the roller of the conveyor belt. There were about 5 bins of overnight returns and I forgot to empty one of the returns. Anyway, I made it through the eight hours and came home to find A's relatives here for the weekend. I actually ran into them at K Mart when I stopped in to buy a bottle of wine and some cat litter. A's mom and sis cooked dinner, a lot of delicious fattening soul food. It was a full house up until about two hours ago.
On Sunday, I ended up grilling burgers and dogs. We stayed up late watching videos on You Tube on the projector. I also worked on an art project for the bulletin board at work: little footballs of the Big 10 and Big East conference football teams.

9/9/07
Still busy. I am in Indy visiting mom and the family for the weekend. Still waiting on a job offer from IIT. More later.

Family is...and Movies

Hi, BlogWorld...
What's really good? I am sitting here in my kitchen with my family.
What is a family you ask? And some of you are thinking: Didn't you just post about your family last week? Well, yes and no. The family I am speaking of this week was formed in one night and one day. A's cousin has moved in with us for an undetermined time. Won't go into the details of why, I just want to say right now for the record that I am fine with this. She has moved in with her teenage daughter and 11 year-old son. Also the teenage daughter has a baby under one year. They are wonderful, nice people and I welcome them into my home. What is your life, or what are you supposed to do with your life while you are here. Wayne Dyer says that your life is meant to be given away. The more I can give of my life, the more I will receive in this life and perhaps the next life. I have an interview on Thursday for a very prestigious job. Anyone out there want some of my life, I am giving away free samples. P.S.
Thank God for A. There is not a more good-hearted person in my realm.
And please pray that we will get our little plumbing problem in the main bathroom straightened out soon.
Need I say more? Don't think so. On to the next subject...

Movie Men

We have been watching movies all weekend: Stomp the Yard, Pride, Blood and Chocolate, Premonition, and Phat Girlz with our girl Monique.

Here are a couple of standout guys:
Jimmy Jean-Louis from PHAT GIRLZ &

Kevin Phillips from PRIDE.

Weekend Warrior

"The Infamous 4 Little kidz or three of them anyway"
I was sitting here trying to come up with a title for this particular posting. Some of the contenders were "new beginnings" or "firsts." But then my sometimes clever mind found a way to fit everything that I wanted to include. Since I visited family this past weekend, these people that I love have been on my mind. How much I love being around them, how crazy some of them are, their problems and pains and how my being in another state affects all of us. My crazy sister, who I spent Saturday night with. I had such a great time with her, even risking getting struck by lightening just to make her happy. My younger brother who is so talented and generous and not just a warrior but also a survivor. And then there are the kids. 4 little kids that bring so much life and strife to my mom's household. Although one or all of them always gives my some type of germ to take back to Chicago with me, I would do anything for them. Last, but not least, there is my mom. What can I cay about this woman? She is my rock. At 65, she stands tall and strong, even with all that she has been through and is still going through. She holds all our lives together and has always given me unconditional love. I was going to include some other things here about my brother, but I've decided to save that for a future post. All in all, I had a great time this weekend, some stressful moments (but that is always par for the course). I see a family making strides, a family bettering themselves, a people determined to overcome their obstacles and win in this life.
Thanks for listening...I mean reading :)
