The Taste

I am sorry I haven't been posting with a regularity that I had hoped to produce my posts. That being said, in the future, I am hoping to transition to a video blog...I just need the time to sit down and figure it all out. Time is something you would think I have a lot of, but even though I am only working part-time, keeping up the house and driving a two-hour commute each day, takes up more time than you know. Plus I will add that A. likes to get out and about and A. usually invites me along, so whether it be a movie, shopping or just eating out, staying on the go and not at home eats up huge blocks of a day. This past week, I had two job interviews and I am claiming that I will hear some good news soon. I also visited downtown Chicago about 3 times, two of those outings were going to "The Taste of Chicago." For those of you who have not heard of this event, it is basically one of the biggest festivals that involves local restaurants and eateries selling their wares; there is also live entertainment, but mostly it is about the food and people, meaning crowds & crowds of people. When we went today with our cousin and A's sister and nephew, the crowd wasn't that bad, but the heat was terrible. We drank plenty of water, but still all that walking and heat drained the energy out of each and everyone of us.

We came back and started preparing for A's birthday next weekend and judging from our discussions, I am not going to get a breathing break for a minute. My only regret in all of this activity is that I have not been able to visit my beloved family in Indianapolis. I did talk to my sister today and she told me that she is now working. Thank GOD!!!that is some good news. In a future post I want to talk about what it means to be spiritual. Because I haven't been going to church for quite a spell, A. and I got into a little conversation on whether I was spiritual or not. Well, just so you know, I am...but I am not going to hit anyone over the head with it. I prefer to move in a quiet and encouraging way that I think suits me.
I have started on a new piece of art, but with all I have to do this week, I won't get near a paint brush until next week. These photos are from the movie "Stomp the Yard," which is where I am getting my inspiration for the artwork:
Here's one of my favorite heroes. Although he didn't make it to the finals in this week's Wimbledon, James Blake is always a winner in my opinion. Check out his new book in stores and libraries now!
